The Jewish Museum in Berlin was designed to portray an identity which was lost during WWII. The design by Daniel Libeskind was intended to communicate sentiments of fragmentation of society, void, light and darkness by articulating the struggles faced by the Jewish community. For some people it brings to mind a broken Star of David; for others a bolt of lightning. Many people are left with a feeling of insecurity or disorientation.
